Bahar Dowlatshahi and Shah Hakimi lead Spring Boutique of Compass, a boutique real estate practice serving Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, backed by the technology, marketing, and national reach of Compass, the country’s largest residential real estate brokerage.

Bahar is a licensed real estate advisor across the DMV whose entrepreneurial instincts were well documented before she entered real estate. In 2012, the Wall Street Journal profiled her bakery, Sweet Bliss, which she built with her sister from a home hobby into a commercial-scale operation — a business that had tripled in size that year alone and employed three dozen people, from pastry chefs to delivery drivers, known for hand-crafted cakes and a devoted following. That same standard for craft, growth, and hands-on attention to detail carries into her work today.
Her family has lived and worked in the Washington area since 1983, giving her a native’s grasp of its neighborhoods. She holds an MBA from Aalto University in Finland and serves clients in English and Farsi.

Shah is an international attorney, business executive, and licensed real estate advisor with more than twenty-five years structuring complex transactions, investments, and market-entry strategies across emerging and frontier markets in Europe, Africa, West Asia, and Central Asia. A member of the D.C. Bar since 1991 and a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, he brings legal precision, cross-border deal experience, and sanctions-compliance expertise to every DMV transaction, residential and commercial alike.
Bahar and Shah operate on a simple premise: real estate handled with the rigor of law and the care of hospitality. Clients work directly with both principals, not a handed-off team, supported by Compass’s national platform and in-house creative production. We speak English and Persian (Farsi).
